The oldest still-existing football club in England

Among all countries, this sport is most famous among Brits. They are obsessed with football.

Reading

When a big game is underway, the local football clubs' flags are hung outside each window, or perhaps even boldly displayed on scarves and T-shirts. Decked up in their team's colors from head to toe, you can see young guys swarming into crowded pubs, their eyes fixed on small television screens.
There are around 40,000 clubs in England. We've compiled a list of some of England's oldest football teams that are still operational today.

Notts County
Notts County Football Club was formed when there were no other teams to play with. Establish in the year 1862, the club interestingly comes from before the founding of the Football Association and used to play the game that they invented on their own. The club is recognized as the oldest club currently competing in the football league.

Stoke City
Situated in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Stoke City Football Team was established in 1863 as Stoke Ramblers, the team was renamed as Stoke Football Club in 1878 and subsequently to Stoke City in 1925 when Stoke-on-Trent was given city status. The club was formed by Charterhouse School students who decided to form a team while working as interns at North Staffordshire Railway.

Nottingham Forest
As a reaction to the founding of Notts County some years prior, some players in Nottingham decided to establish a football team. When the team was founded in 1865, it was known as Nottingham Forest Football and Bandy Club. As you might have guessed considering their name, they started as a multi-sports club instead of a football club.

 Sheffield Wednesday
Established in 1820, the club was a part of Wednesday Cricket Club, one of Sheffield’s most successful cricket clubs. It is among the oldest club throughout the globe regardless of the code. The name of the club ‘Wednesday’ reflects the day in the week when the founder of the club was not working. Sheffield Wednesday was born in 1867 when the members couldn’t play cricket during the winter months and agreed on starting a football club to keep themselves active. The football team became considerably more famous and decided on becoming wholly distinct enterprises in 1882.

Reading
The club, which was founded in 1871, is one of England's oldest. Given that football is primarily a working-class sport, a team called The Royals may seem weird but it is nicknamed The Royals because it is located in the Royal County of Berkshire. Because Huntley & Palmers was situated in Reading, the squad was also nicknamed "The Biscuitmen" for a while.
